Chemistry Tutor Needed ASAP!!
Replacement tutor position: 10 hours/week.

  1. Tutoring
    Struggling with Chemistry? We can help! Chemistry Club is offering free tutoring in Reynolds Room 325.
  2. T-Shirts
    Do you want to represent the HSU Chemistry Department? Talk to Dr. Rowland about the Chemistry Club T-shirt! Short sleeve - $12 Long sleeve - $15
  3. Need Lab Goggles?
    We got you covered! HSU Chemistry Club sells visorgogs for $10 a pair. A club member will come to every lab class and sell them. All money goes towards helping the Chemistry Club and its members.
  4. T-shirt Design Contest
    We are hosting a contest for a new t-shirt design for the chemistry club. Only original designs are allowed. Please submit your original and unique design to Dr. Rowland or Wade.
  5. ACS National Meeting Requirements
    1. Attend at least 1/2 of meetings. 2. Receive 6 service points (3 per term). 3. Present a poster at the meeting.

The Academic Advising Center is looking for a  replacement tutor. Many requests have been made for a chemistry tutor, so the replacement will be a student tutor for this subject.  

The position is a 10 hour/ week institutional position. 

Mrs. Ligon's office is located in Foster Hall, Room 330.

Description
Higher Education Research Experiences at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (HERE at ORNL) provides research opportunities and associated activities for participants at all levels, beginning the term before college entrance through thesis/dissertation research, and higher education faculty. The program is designed to complement academic programs by utilizing the unique resources of Oak Ridge National Laboratory to enhance science, mathematics, engineering, and technology education; encourage careers in science and technology, and improve scientific literacy. At the same time, the program contributes to the Laboratory mission.
 
Term
8 to 52 full time weeks consecutively with possible extensions
Full-time and part-time appointments
 
Benefits
Stipend: $500/week paid bi-weekly
$150/week housing allowance for students whose permanent address is more than 50 miles from Oak Ridge
One round trip (limited to $500 total) for students whose permanent address is more than 50 miles from Oak Ridge

Qualifications
To be eligible, you must:
Be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident at time of applying (LPRs are subject to DOE clearance approval for laboratory entry) - verification required. Be at least 18 years old prior to start of appointment
Have a cumulative minimum grade point average of at least 2.5/4.0 - copy of academic record (official transcript will not be required) with name, school name, current classes and GPA required
Be enrolled as an undergraduate at an accredited U.S. college or university in a STEM field or related discipline - verification required
Have medical insurance during appointment - verification required
Submit two references - one academic preferred
